Well just to make you feel better my car has also started doing exactly the same as you're experiencing again...

Have to disconnect the ECU only sometimes though to get it started...

Bad times mate :(

Hopefully my ignition switch turns up today and ordered 2 100 relays so hoping that once they are also fitted this will solve the issue.

If not phone call to Jabba me thinks.

## UPDATE ##

New ignition switch fitted
Both 100 Relays changed

Still doesn't work!!! [:@][:@][:@][:@][:@]

It still remains if I disconnect the ECU and reconnect car starts up, then on second attempt to start its either very very hesitant and fires up or just won't start at all.

Lights on dash are all perfect after first disconnecting the ECU then after that the EPC light does not come on until I try and turn it over.

Calling Jabba tomorrow to try get them to check my ECU for coding, dry soldering etc etc. Just can't be anything else if it fires up once disconnected.

im no expert on this matter by any means but some stage 2 remaps require a uprated fuel pump. like from the cupra r or s3/tt you say the car starts when pumping the gas pedal so this would be a possibility. and if the pump is working overtime then the relays will be too hence getting hot. your pump may have been on its way out befor the map but working enough to cope with your original map. just because you have a 4bar fpr doesnt mean your pump is pushing out 4bar. i believe that the fuel pressure for starting the car is higher than when its running hence why its fine once started.
i hope you solve this problem befor you loose your marbles :wtf:

Its making me think more toward fuel pump now too

I know in the pm you sent me i doubted it but ive never known the fuel pump to give up especially 1 day after the map

The 4bar fpr will stress your pump especially if its a tired pump anyway, for me it just caused my car to run very lean top end

Maybe an lcr pump would be worth a try, if it doesnt solve the problem it wont be a waste as eventually your fuel pump will start giving up and if you dont have a wideband gauge it could run lean without you knowing, causing bigger problems later on.

Would the failing fuel pump cause my EPC light to not come on though and throw all these codes?

Gutted mate! I'm gonna try drying out the ECU again properly then seal it well after, see what happens.

Good luck mate! I tried to dry mine out a few times but it just didn't respond to the treatment at all :(

Really didn't want to buy a fuel pump :( can only find them new and they aren't cheap lol

Might try and source one while I try get my ECU sent to Jabba

It's all Leon Cupra R's that have a 4bar pump?

Or just the 225 models?

ECU is on its way to Jabba now, I also tried a spare 3bar fpr and it still failed to start properly. I'm leaning towards a damaged ECU as the EPC light is not coming on.

Will keep everyone updated

Replys are much appreciated guys :)

Thats what i thought, maybe its completely dead though and cant start the car

Hes already mention sometimes it doesnt prime, having to give some throttle to start aswell

as i say im no expert but the epc light or any engine management lights may not illuminate because the pump works and is recieving and sending signals and works fine once started. the only thing confusing me is you say you dont hear it prime. has the car started since you stopped hearing it prime? i had a problem with a diesel car i had and what i did was turn ignition to prime pump and then re prime again and then start. it never started first turn of the key. it turned out to be a dirty fuel pump from the previous owner letting it stand for 3 years without it being started once.
