OK so it will save some weight but how much?
A few kilo's at best. Let's be honest the bonnet is hardly the heaviest panel on the car.
If you put sound proofing on as well I don't think the weight saving warrants the cost.
Better way to save weight would be to fit lightweight wheels or carbon doors.

Regards Guy.

And if you already have lightweight wheels and carbon doors?

End of the day, if you put your car on a diet then get one of these! All depends how metal you want to go,

I wouldnt be able to justify a bonnet like that on anything other than a track day car, were the driver shaves (everywhere!) for weight reduction!

You probably wouldn't be worried about sound proofing the bonnet if you went for a carbon one. The standard ones aren't exactly great when it comes to this!

The bonnet is a heavy panel, along with the roof which is proabbly stronger. And there is a difference in decreasing the sprung weight of the car and the unspring weight (which the wheels come under). Alloy wheels are reasonably light as they are as that is the main reason for having them, other than cosmetics.

Anyway, personally I still like the look of them and would get one if one existed...depending on price of course.

That's exactly the point I was trying to make.

I don't want to get into a huge argument about this.
I just feel that the same money can be spent on things more beneficial to the existing car.

If you can afford it go for it, but it's not for me and my wallet.

Regards Guy.
