I cant comment on the Leon but i fitted a carbonio to my mk1 octy vrs....went to one of them rolling road days at impossible performance in kent and i had two runs...1st run stock...car produced 179bhp...2nd run with carbonio...car produced 187bhp....this was my first mod on that car and after that i added a few more bits and got it upto 230bhp with the same tuners......the carbonio i thought was a great bit of kit and the sound was good..not intrusive like a K&N for example but the noise from the wastegate going ssssshhhhhhhh up the carbonio was awesome...pick up was instanlty improved too...get one!

Hmm that looks cool.....i cant comment what that one will sound like then as the one i had for the octy was a tube based one and the filter was located by the front wheel at bottom of engine...this does look nice

I have never had one fitted but I have been in quite a few cars with them and it is much quieter than an open one IMO. It seems to whistle more rather than suck if you know what I mean. My neuspeed makes all kinds of weird noises when on boost, and my passengers are like "what the hell is that" :cartman:

Well a panel filter makes no noise whatsoever, so going to any kind of CAI you are going to hear big changes... but not as big as an open cone :)

I've had a few of these and basically you get a little increase in torque a little engine bay bling and that's it.
You don't get any intake noise and gain approx 2bhp.
When I was trying every intake for Tfsi I kept going back to one of these as there's no downside. No noise and looks good.
I've just sold mine for £75 there's one on the vagoc forum for £100 for sale now.

Luke, did it make a difference? I want a CAI but a little more subtle than the p-flo or the like, do u get some noise from it or does it still sound standard?

Cheers
Tim.

You get a slight noise increase but nothin intrusive. I have now got a twintake which is subtle under normal driving and then comes alive under full throttle, but nothin like a p-flo or IGS.
