hey all

im after getting a blueflame exhaust system.

i am undecided on weather to get the system with the hi flow cat or to get a de cat system?

if anyone can give me any information on either of these system it would be much appreciated.

things like how the system sounds? is the de cat ok for MOT?

thanks in advance.

cheers for that mate.

think i will go for the high flow cat.

then i dont have to mess about come MOT time lol.

haha this is why im having this problem.

so many people say de cat??

i want a nice throaty sounding system but quiet when im driving around normally?

so would i be better going for a cat if thats what i want??

thanks for the replies

im after the same thing.
i dont want my passengers to feel/hear any excess drones when driving around normally.
really need to get down to these meetups asap :)

faisal,
does the money justify going from stage 1 to stage 2? (i.e adding the CAT/intercooler etc - what power gains would you say uve seen?)

I had a blueflame 100cell race cat/downpipe, lost a slight bit of power over my decat but gained quite a bit of torque....and it went straight through a MOT and you have no worries with the VOSA spot checks.

20% gain if anything, definately not worth it from a financial point of view, but it sounds better and keeps up better with the big dogs in the hood. if you have the money, go for it, if not - you're not missing out on much

Decat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! stop mincing around! Me and Andy lang both have the ebay 3" DP and De Cat, for the money its awesome and the quality of the stainless if far superior to my milltek even, sounds wicked with my non res Cat Back Milltek! We have another ebay DP and Decat on the way which we are welding a cat in the middle for MOT time which we are both sharing, reason for this is we can leave the DP in place as the DP and Cat are in two sections on the new item so its a simple unbolt drop it down change MOT then repeat simples no worrys!

why would you not go decat 20% gain i beg to differ tbh, its transformed the car guys, spools up instantly, pulls harder and sounds like a proper car, you will not believe the difference it makes!!! my car is not mapped yet but after fitting the 3" DP and De Cat it feels like it is.

decat will not pass mot, if you have the no how its a simple change over before mot but if not get a sports cat.

you'll find the spooling noise due to the downpipe, i did mine one at a time and found that the downpipe made a good difference to the spooling rather than the sports cat. and the difference that i was talking about was between stage 1 and stage 2 maps, not sports cat/decat

Here here Jim bob (Captain Cupra) I LOVE my decat powerflow system - when I had it all fitted I found a 15 bhp gain alone and since then ive had a revo stage2 and OMG! It just blows away my mates stage 1 TT!! :D sounds mean as hell - but mines resonated as its stripped out, so at cough, 70- its just a subtle burble and opens up and sings on boost!
I say decat - and find a friendly MOT man, or "rent" our cat off us for the mot - hahahahahahhaha
If your going to the effort of performance, why start off by restricting it with a cat?
