this depend on what you want to do. i have a decat with the standard downpipe, if i want a new uprated down pipe i have to get a new decat aswell as the design is different.

Always better to do it all at once, saves time + you know it fits together, as sam has just said he would need to replace his decat if he was to replace his downpipe

Wouldn't say massive but noticeable! Main thing i'd say is turbo spool time oh and noise! Though I find these 1.8t lumps quiet if i'm honest lol

by spool time do u mean stays in turbo 4 longer? yeah you rite they are quiet compared to cars i'v had in the past but i prefer power over noise. wat full system do u reccomend? so many ppl have different opinions

Turbo spools quicker, i've only ever ran my old scooby with a decat, my cupra is standard exhaust wise at the moment so can't comment. I'm debating over a scorpion system though if i'm honest, never been keen on blueflame and milltek are way overpriced imo.
Custom or Scorpion for me but everyone differs

Res = box in centre pipe
Non-res = straight piped center basically
Main diff is the noise, resonated will be quieter

Any links of where to buy a 3" downpipe for the cupra and decat? I can get the blueflame handy enough but they only list a 2.5" downpipe

The resonator only resonates certain frequencies so you don't get droning on the motorway etc and it's not noisy on idle or tick over. Mines still loud as hell when you have your foot down.

If your going decat I'd get a resonated centre section, if your going sports cat then I wouldn't. Decat and no resonator makes it sound like a tractor on idle and just dead droney.

Decat, resonated centre section:
