catalytic converter replacment trouble

Hi all, im having trouble with the replacement of my catalytic converter, the cat and front pipe currently is one piece, however when i came to order a new one the supplier reckons i need to fit the front pipe and cat seperatly at a cost of £70 more, i dont wanna buy the full system and then have it not fit properly! PLEASE CAN ANYONE HELP
