Mine chirps too - not the horn.

I think it's a good feature as before it was turned on (thanks Dave!), I would always go back to the car as I forget if I locked it.......

No probs mate.
It also brings attention to the car if it doesn't lock as you listen out for the beep. If you don't hear it you realise that the car isn't locked and check everything.

My car automatically locks itself after a couple of mins anyway!

Not if a door has been opened it won't.
If you unlock it and don't touch the car, then it will re-lock within a set period of time.
