I have a 2006 seat leon. The key fob will lock my car when the button is pressed but it will not unlock the car from the fob. Does anybody know an inexpensive way to solve this problem? Regards, Mark.

When I
The whole car or only certain doors?

The door lock module is know for having problems
When I press unlock on the fob nothing happens. It won't unlock any doors from the fob. Also now that you mention it the door lock on the fob is starting to play up. Any advice on fixing these issues? Regards, Mark.

On the occasions when it doesn't work can you hear noises from the locks when you press the buttons on the fob? If not try replacing the battery in the fob in the first instance, and look for wiring issues (particularly in the door looms) if that doesn't solve it.

If you can hear noises from the locks every time then that means the radio and circuitry sides of things are fine and dried up lubricant in the lock modules is the most likely culprit, and the technique in the video above should help.

Whatever.

Did mine 3 years ago and it's worked perfectly ever since. Thats a fix as far as I'm concerned.

Do you hear any "unlock" noises when you press the unlock button? If so press unlock twice quickly. I had a bizarre thing happen to me... One day I can to unlock my car no doors opened at all (heard it unlock though) I assumed it was because the heat, using vinyl n rubber care on the seals and no use for three days or so.

After a few yanks I decided to open the door with the key and all doors from inside and I come to notice no doors would open except the drivers door now which baffled me boot included but the boot button did open it.
I tried degreasing the latches then greasing them up again and nothing still. After endless searching all suggests the modules didn't work but my issue was all doors not just one, I came across 1 comment saying he has to unlock his golf with a fast double unlock press and to my surprise that worked...

Its called selective unlocking I don't know how mine has came on exactly but it works like that now and no issues at all.

Thanks everyone for your helpful information. I got the battery on the fob tested. Turns out all it was, was the battery. I am fuming at my mechanic. All the times I said about the locks he kept saying you would have to get a brand new fob from Seat. Never once did he say to get the battery on the fob checked. 3 euro for a new battery was all it took. Now my car both locks and unlocks from the fob. It's fantastic beacause for the longest time the fob would never unlock the car, I had to insert the key and turn the lock. Now I can do it all from the fob. Thanks everyone. Have a pleasant day.
