The CL on my car is not responding when i press the remote buttons. The LED is flashing on the remote (new batteries put in) and nothing is happening at all.

Where is the CL control unit in the car as i recently had the dreaded water leak in the passenger footwell repaired and i am thinking the water has seeped into unit if its fitted near the footwell and buggered it [:@].I have also checked the fuses and they're ok.

Any help will be appreciated.

I know you've checked the fuses but specifically fuse 38? Not sure what else it controls but CL is one of them.
Does the CL work off the key in the door?

If that fuse has blown, your central locking, electric wing mirrors, interior lights and your electric windows will have all stopped working too. So check those and see what's going on.

I have checked the fuse and is ok

Interior lights and EW are still working

CL still works with the key in the door.

Its either the CL control unit or a faulty remote so i might just have to take it to a garage to get it looked at.

I didnt do it myself but my mate sorted mine out cos everything was fine except the CL. Took him a while but he said it was a fuse although he didnt think so after cheking them at first, make sure you have a real good check!!

Problem is more likely to be the remote losing "sync" with the car then.

Check your user manual - there is a section in there on how to resync it - you'll need both the remote key and the standard key to do it, and you basically follow a sequence to resync/program it.
