central locking problem

hello

My passenger door isnt working. The door seems to have deadlocked itself. I press the key and the drivers door and boot opens but not the passenger, and the same happens if I put the key in the lock. (the passenger door doesnt have a key hole)

I have tried pulling the lock inside the car but it wont budge.

Any ideas on how to get the door open??

How old's the car? It sounds like a dealer visit is going to be the best thing and if your under warranty then you may as well take it straight in

A good indepenant is probably your best bet - the problem is that with the deadlocking active its a bit of an arse to get the door open or any panels off to start looking at things - great if your trying to stop someone nicking the car, crap when the c/l packs up :(

might be worth getting someone with VAG-COM on it.

if your near leeds i can take a look

you cant get door card off without opening the door i dont think so its a real pain in that respect. soundls like its not opening electronically or mechanically. trip to independant i think or try getting door card off and seeing if everything is connected correctly

i wouldnt bother trying to remove it with the door closed, do more damage than good, held on with screew and clips, probley end up snapping the clips if not the door card its self.

id say its worth a try with vagcom to see if you can unlock the door elctronicly with that if it does then you can open the door and take the door apart for a better look

I'd be surprised if VAG COM can help as if deadlock wont respond to key/lock request to deactivate, it wont respond to a VAG COM request but I could be wrong...
I had this on Audi A6, couldn't get door open to fix the problem, spent hours trying, gave up then happened to be sitting in car with engine running, pressed unlock and the door pin flicked up! Quickly order new mechanism and all fixed! So my tip is keep pressing unlock with engine running so power supplied is as strong as possible.
Good luck :)

What Rash means is do you have these 'pins' or buttons to lock the doors at the top of the doors like in this picture -

or are they blanked off with plastic caps like in this picture -
