hi all, my c/l has given up! i left my car unlocked overnight with the keys in it (live in the middle of nowhere) and in the morning the car was locked, both doors, boot, fuel flap! and now im havin to use the key which is rubbish! any ideas????

If you leave your keys in n unlocked think you may find one of the scn'ers has run off with her one day;) Cheers for the heads up:lol: Fre GTI anyone:lol:

Good point, i wudnt imagine the insurance company wud be too happy either!! lol!

So i tried reprogramming it but no success. I have a Selca alarm immob which works the central locking at the same time. When i press the key fob the alarm and immobiliser both activate but no movement from the locks, im guessing its somethin more serious....and expensive?!

hmm sounds like it, thats why i dont wanna get an aftermarket alarm ...too much hassle. i had a remote start on my 1.4 ...was very nice but immob kinda didnt work. does the red light come on on the key? it could just be a battery?

ye im starting to thinki that myself, was on the car when i got it from "pint_of_stella" on here! def not the battery...im gonna investigate this wkend!!!

Mine's given up as well - Alarms/Immobilises OK but no central locking.
The Seat/VW systems work from a vaccum system - the pump is in the offside rear quarter well (remove trim to get to it).
Could be blocked/punctured pipework, dodgy electrics or pump. Once the car is unlocked, try manually pushing the internal lock knobs up & down on both driver & passenger side. If the electrics/pump are OK this should trigger the locking mechanism - you should be able to hear the pump working.

Haven't got any further on mine - miserable bloody weather!
