Centre Screen Ideas..

I am seriously thinking about hacking to pieces the front panel on my mk3 cupra, and fitting a colour touch LCD screen, and simply mount my ipaq in underneath with vid output or a custom build box out of an older laptop, to run sat nav etc on..

what's peoples views?

I think the headunti is gagging for a new colour screen

well in theory i could make a screen that when turned off goes see through, sort of like an lcd can be done on these gadget clocks and HUD's on aircraft etc.

Or i could do away with it, as you know when a/c is on, i odnt usually look at it.

Nice idea cuprapower, but i mount ipaq under there at moment and find ti hard to follow sat nav directions when its mounted that low (i'm quite tall so sit far back in seat).

Or i coudl just do as somebody else did and modify tape area and have a pop-out lcd screen with new headunit

I have fitted a normal head unit in mine where the original tape player was, took fair bit of doing but was well worth it and i've been playing around with the idea of having a touch screen etc.
