First off I will apologise for starting another thread about this but cant find a definitive answer.

Basically I have an iPhone 5 which is currently connected to the under seat connector in my FR with the lightning adapter attached to the lead below.

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B004E7OOCK/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Now the description says it charges the phone however it wont charge the phone at all. Does anybody know if any of the below adapters will charge the phone if connected to the lead above?

Thanks in advance

Are you using the official Apple lightning adapter with the cable?

Only reason I ask is my mate bought a cheaper lightning adapter off eBay and it never charged his phone, but then got the original and it worked.

Yeah its a genuine Apple connector as knew none of the cheap ones support audio etc.

Does your cable work outside the car, I.e in the apple plug? I've had to change my cable a couple of times as its been faulty. Apple replace them for free :)

I cant try it outside of the car as it is a male/female lead and doesnt have a usb connector. See first link, also it isnt a genuine apple lead, only the lightning adapter is genuine Apple.

Might be easier to just use a cigarette lighter adaptor, I've got one and it charges my iPhone 5 just fine.

Ive got the same cable as damo and plug it into the usb and aux ports under my headunit, any of you had trouble with your iphone 5 disconnecting in the middle of a song then either reconnecting or saying "device error"? very annoying and usually results in uplugging/plugging in the usb multiple times

Remind me, what's an indicator?

That's happened a few times with the wife's iphone 4, but I put that down to it being a cheap £9.99 eBay cable or that both phones where next to each other. Never had a problem when its just me in the car with my iphone 5.

I only use it for charging now though, I use a 32Gb SD card for music.
