Hi,

I bought a cheap Vagcom cable there and cant get it to work...
Its version 11.11.3 and i have windows 7. Could anyone give me any ideas?

Its saying there is no interface found.

Cheers,
Peter

Unless its a genuine Ross-tech Cable, it won't work.

Download VCDS Lite and give that a try.

It also helps if the cable is plugged into the Diagnostics port on ignition turned on before running a test.

Com 3 is the only one that even trys to work. Then it says port ok no interface found or words to that effect

Cheers
Peter

You need to be connected to the OBD port (under the ashtray) and have the engine electrics turned on (but not necessarily with the engine started). VCDS has to be able to connect to the engine modules or it will complain that there's nothing to read.

pretty sure you need to be using usb

USB box won't work unless its a genuine hex can cable.

If you go on the Ross tech site there is trouble shooting for cheap cables. I had to reassign my USB ports to make it work, took ages of trying loads of different things then checked their site and hey presto! Ended up buyin a genuine cable though, the cheap ones just don't do enough in my eyes

Right so got up and running (thanks again Anarchy1515) and got a fault code cleared. Now if i wanted to change certain things should i be able to access each module? It just keeps saying it cannot access it...

Thanks,
Peter

If you go onto options then test does it say everythings ok but requires a firmware update? As mine did this yesterday although ive turned off updates and have never opened it whilst connected to internet, so i deleted everything and re-installed but it still did it, so as i have 2 cables i let it update the cable and it worked absolutly fine. Just be warned it could fry the cable!
