Whats the cheapest way to monitor the car via the OBD2 for things such as intake temperature etc?

Looked into the wifi adaptor for iPhone but it's still£120

For me it was my Android phone, a Free App(or pay 3.95 for even more) called Torque and a BT Adapter. Think I had change out of £20 for it all, sometimes connection cuts off but pulling it out and back in is fine and the app wont crash even if it is logging, will simply continue from where you left off as far as im aware. May be cheaper to get a android phone with Bluetooth and an adapter than an i phone app.

The coolant temp comes up and the Oil temp is the same all the time as the coolant, so not sure about oil temp?

Bluetooth phone works fine with Toruqe, never took a call but have had them both connected @ the same time without issue on my Andriod Nexus One

Nice one, will that soak up your battery though on the WiFi all the time, I know BT is similar but nevermind. Least you should have a good strong connection/unit

I'm also suggesting the OBDII BT adapter + torque app for android.
Another cool thing is the Sony Ericsson LiveView screen, Torque has a plugin to make it useful, it should allow your Android phone to run something else while looking at what ever you want on the LiveView screen.

Sounds great to me!

I have scangauge II you can monitor almost everything intake temps, coolant temp, rpm, boost pressure, speed and can be used for economy too if you set it up only problem is oil temp is not available very small and easy to install and can be put anywhere.
