Just gone to hoover out the car and lifted out the front mats to find both the driver and passenger foot wells full of water. ‍♂️

Might be worth other people just having a look to make sure they don’t have the same issue.

Out of curiosity, was this after the massive electrical storm, and assuming you are parking outside (eg..not in a garagae or underground parking). Oh dear...wonder whether the seals have gone already or just the car had drained the water into the cabin.

by The smell of the water which is starting to become stagnant this must have been happening over a couple of weeks. Yes we have had some heavy rain but not for a few days.
It was only when I lifted the floor mats up that I could see all the water.
I certainly haven’t left anything open, as nothing else is wet in the car, like door cards, seats etc......
it’s probably coming from a blocked drain channel of door seal somewhere.

Toledos (and Rapids) had this fleetwide. There was too much sealant in the bottom of the doors so water could not drain out the bottom hole and ended up inside instead. The bottom door rubber seals were also a bit too big, so the dealer fix was to cut them back a little to enable drainage. I just pulled back the seal to find the holes and cleared out the excess sealant - no more water in the carpets afterwards.

So the source of the leak was that the air conditioning drain pipe that was suppose to direct the water out of the bottom of the car was complete missing from the factory.
And whilst this was being replaced the dealership managed to take all of the paint off my door sills and sent the car to a body shop without telling me.
