so ive decided to put lpg in..
its the most advanced landirenzo system at the moment
so when i tried the car it was just fine..i tested acceleration imediatley and the results were usual for a hot day

0-100kmh in 6.3s...same with gasoline or LPG
0-160kmh in 15s...also same with gasoline or LPG

however few hours later the car turned into limp mode or something..
going slow..on LPG or gasoline..so ive tried to disconnect battery for an hour and it reseted the ecu and it was booosting again...for about 50km...the again..same thing...
i reseted it again and it was good for another 50km..and now theres no boost again...so i will leave battery disconnected over night and see what will happen in the morning.

any ideas?

sounds like its going into limp mode, can be a number of things, MAF, N75 etc. However it would be best to get VAG-COM plugged into the car and check the error codes out to see exactly what it is

ill do that in a few days...
while the car was in limp mode i disconnected MAF and didnt notice any difference...

Unplugging the maf isnt a sure fire way of showing if it is gone or not. By unplugging it you will get another code and the engine management light will come on but these will not effect performance.

today ive put a boost gauge.
i belive its connected to the hose where boost goes into IC.
and the rading are max 1.5bar in low rpm and falling to 1.2bar on 5000 rpm and so on

when it hits limp mode boost is max around 0.85bar and falling with rpm below 0.5 bar

i talked to a mechanic that put lpg in my ibiza and he says that i need to tune lpg a little....to make some fine adjustments...autogas may be, for example, lean in some areas of rpm and CPU detects that and reduces boost...

so we will see in a few days...

in the meantme that boost of 1.5bar seems waaaay to high..any ideas?

do you know what it boosted before the lpg conversion?

and what map do you have? 1.5bar (spike) wouldn't be unusual for revo..

How much was the lpg conversion out of interest?

Ive got my ibiza on LPG too and would say it is quicker on petrol, I told the gas people this and then put it on the rollers to 'tune' it up but they said it wasnt out by much at all.It is still quicker on petrol(well i think, not done tests. just feels like the boost on petrol is much better) mine is not remapped or anything tho. So yeah, i would be interested if you find a way of fixing this.

i dont know what was boost like be4 conversion but i guess the same cuz i have the same performance.
i bought the car chipped(didnt even know it until itried it) and i dont know what remap is it...
but i am quite sure it is around 185,190 hp.

LPG conversion cost was around 1k on action sale
usual price is around 1,3k or 1,4k

so its normal for boost going that high in lower rpm?

How big is your tank on your LPG? and how many miles do you get off it?

i get about 220 miles off 40 litres of LPG

I am thinking of getting it remapped but was wondering how much more LPG it would us. thanks

my lpg tank is toroid one and seats in place of spare tire.
itis also 40 liters but i can only put 32,33 liters of lpg in.
yesterday i measured 230km with 27 liters of lpg.

Hey can you all tell me how much you got the lpg conversion for? and where?
cheers

so i noticed something today...
ive put a cone filter and seems that i am having less boost issues
ive also noticed that boost isues happen when driving on petrol too:(
so today i got into limp mode again giving me max pressure of 0.5bar instead of 1.5
i tapped throotle a bit (tapped it like 10 times partial and full) and my boost was back...
it seems tapping only works in 2nd gear...
anyways i dont have to reset ECU anymore...

sometimes while im flooring it boost goes away for just half a second then goes back ...

any ideas?

might sound really really strange not the same syptoms as when trying left foot braking is it >?

when boosting gently (and safely mind) press the brake pedal down is the same sort of thing or worse ?

oh yeah...i forgot to mention
when i press throttle gently to maybe 50 or 60% boost often cuts out...
i press throttle gently to about 50% for example
boost starts to raise slowly and car accelerates slowly
suddenly boost goes up to 1.5 and im getting wheel spin(in 2nd gear)..
then boost cuts out...
and i am only giving 50% of throttle and it acts almost like full throttle.

I was always under the assumpltion that you should not convert a turdo engined vechile to lpg coz your just going to be asking for trouble, no i know some people may say i have had it done and its been fine, its just what ive been told.

Naah, theres a few well documented turbo lpg conversions.

This guys is sorted now too, he had loose hoses.

There are a few lpg scoobys, and general opinion was that more bhp can be had by raising compression due to the nature of lpg (higher octane, different burn rate)

i guess few years ago it was a big problem to convert turbo car to lpg cuz lpg systems were crap.
nowadays i think its not a problem at all...only problem is that some engines are sensitive due to pistons and valves overheating on lpg but there is also a solution for that...
here in croatia there is a subaru sti driven on lpg without problems.
