Quite keen for a remap etc but ive got a 1.4 16v which is what that item is for ^

Definitely wouldn't go for that one. If you want a remap, just take your car to an ECU reflasher and get them to do it to your existing one.

I'll also be the first to say it: Remapping a 1.4 really isn't going to give you that much benefit, and will cost a fair amount for the gains you'll get

What hp is your 1.4? I had a 100hp one that had really bad lagging when pulling out junctions etc. I complained to the dealer while it was under warranty and they updated the software and the difference was really noticable, seems to be much more responsive and pulled harder on the motorway.

I hope this doesn't sound off or anything but a phone call to your local Seat dealer and they'll be able to tell you from your reg.

Red panda - I see you've got a 3 button key on your Fr. I just got my Fr yesterday and was surprised that it wasn't a flip key! The key I have doesn't have the boot control on it- will it work if I buy a 3 button key??

Yes. The boot won't pop, but if you press the boot unlock (need to hold it for 1.5 secs) the car will just unlock the boot, then re-lock upon closure of the bootlid, automatically.

The part number of key you need is 1JO 959 753 DA.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you, I've been out this evening. Yes as Blanco says the 3rd boot button should work. It does on mine and I have the 1J0 DA remote. Now you're not going to believe this but I read every post of mostly on the 'Flip Key' thread as well as stuff on loads of other forums before sorting my own flip key out. It took AGES to read through

There's a guy on ebay selling genuine 3 button VW remotes for around 20quid (where I got mine from). Mind you you'll have to buy the other half of the key as well don't forget

check your rear brakes, the tell tale sign is that the 75/85 bhp models have drum brakes and the 100's have discs.

thats the quickest way of telling anyway.
