Has anyone wet-vac'd their ibiza boot carpet?

I'm tempted to try this as the car has a slightly doggy aroma, thanks to the previous owner. However I'm concerned that the foam backing will get saturated and take an age to dry out- particularly given the weather in the UK at the moment.

If it comes to it I might just replace it, as it's a bit squashed in placed - again thanks to the previous owner. Are these hard to come by?

If you have a steamer give that a try, without the worry of soaking the carpet through, im a dog owner and always steam the dog's bed and it works at knocking the smell down.

Might try the steamer approach.. we have a thingy the missus uses on the floors in the house. We've currently misted the carpet with a bicarb & vinegar concoction which she found on the interweb so it now smell like a chipshop as well :D

If you mean the one that you can easily remove and not the sides, I've cleaned it with water and carpet shampoo and it's fine. Just don't scrub a lot.

it's had a big dog sat on it for a good deal of it's past history, and isn't particularly flat, so I'm thinking it may be less grief to replace it in the long run..
