Just wondering what products you use to clean the inside/outside of all your cars? As i want to properly cherish my new one just wondering what ones are good products. Also iv been looking at these clay bars? Which are meant to add a protection coat after you've cleaned? do they actually work??

I've been meaning to invest in a lancer and snow foam set up. Seems to be a great way to set the cleaning process off. There's a detailing subfoum on here where theres a lot of information / reviews on products. Clay bars are good at getting dots of tree sap etc off.

Pressure Washer, and all simoniz fluids, use turtlewax and thats how i got mine proper shiny

when i get my new car im going to get a pressure washer and snow foam etc... will look after that one

How do i clean a car that's been supaguarded? I dont want to rub off the magic! do i just chuck a bucket of water over it?

as FR_POWER says above check out detailingworld.
In regards to supaguard its all down to the prep and application in how good it actually is, I.e how long the protection will last.
Frankly a good off the shelf product will give you the same finish and result if applied correctly for a fraction of the price and usually far greater durability too
to make supaguard last longer look for PH nutural shampoos, use a wash mitt ( never a sponge) along with the two bucket method. Good quality drying towel. Top up with what ever they give you or a quick detailer will do in the short term.. Then do some research on protecting the car

Get yourself on detailingworld.co.uk at look at the studio posts to get an idea on what products are used.

Good start is snowfoam (pre wash that loosens and removes grime ready for washing as this aids minimising contact with paintwork so less chance of marring and scratching the paint)

2 buckets (one with water in the other your shampoo + water solution.

Soft wash mitt

And a soft drying towel also... not a chamois or water blade!

As regarding a clay bar it doesnt add protection but removes organic contamination as well as tar (however tar remover should be used first). If you feel your paint work it will most probably be rough... after claying it will be smooth like glass

Then you need to polish the car (by hand or machine) best and quickest option is Autoglym SRP applied via a german applicator (can give you links if you wish). Work well into the paintwork with light pressure.

After this stage LSP is needed to protect your paint so a sealant or wax. This stage totally depends on budget and your needs but a great all rounder is FK1000p... this can be used to wax and protect your alloys also. I get around 5 months plus on the paintwork and 3+ on the alloys... also have used this on the exhaust too.

It is also worth buying good quality microfibres to buff the products off too.

There is so much detail to go into and explain so it is definately worth getting yourself onto detailingworld.... very very good forum

For an easy peasy way to keep it looking good try the relatively new Meguiars Ultimate Wash and Wax that they now stock in Halfrauds. There is a sale on too on wash stuff. I used it on my Speed Blue Cupra at the weekend and was very impressed. My wife was gobsmacked by the shine when she saw it and thought I had covered it in foil!!
