Clicking sound on idle 1.4 TSI 180PS

Evening folk,

been a while, I'm now an Audismen unfortunately but I'm on here to get some help as my missus took my Ibiza cupra off me and she's having some problems.

There seems to be a strange clicking noise coming from the metal unit that i've pointed to in the pic above. I can't see anything moving but moving my head around the engine bay it's certainly coming from this part or at least something nearby.

It only does it on idle, as soon as you put even the slightest bit of rev's down it stops.

Any ideas? Apologies if this has been discussed before but i figured searching for 'clicking noise' would bring up thousands of posts

after doing a bit of digging, it looks as though this part is -

High pressure pump with fuel pressure regulator valve -N276-

is this likely to be the cause of the clicking problem? is that likely?

As above, to the best of my knowledge it's the tank valve. Mine does exactly the same, nothing to worry about

thanks mjrsharpe, there is the general clicky sound of the 1.4 tsi engine, got used to that now, this noise is new though and has only started recently.

The car is going in for a service on monday, going to ask about it then. Will let u know the outcome!
