Climate control fan speed creeps up

Just wondering if this is normal. I usually have my climate control set to manual, about 21 degrees, vents on the windscreen and the fan speed about 2 bars up (which is quite low).

What I have noticed is by its own accord, the climate control will increase the fan speed, and before I know it the fans are absolutly blasting air at me. It will do this over the course of about 5 or more minutes, so discretly that I dont notice it till its blasting.

If this is intentional and clever as this might be, I find it damn annoying. If I wanted full speed I would set it at full speed. I cant see any way of stopping it doing this and it does it all tempertures HI, LOW and all inbetween. Never been entirely sure what the AUTO does either but it usually turns on the air-con with it which I dont really want either.

Any ideas?

Mine does this too...I think the way it works is that the temp inside the car is monitored, and it increases the fan speed to meet that temp as the engine warms up. I know what you mean though...it is annoying!
Dont know why it does it on manual though!

Its a seat thing lol. My ibiza does it. Usually when flicking from windscreen to blowers etc.. will change it to try and get corrrect temperature.

ok, well at least i know its supposed to be doing this and not a fault. Another slight niggle though is it will take a few attempts of jabbing the "reduce fan speed" button before the display will actually respond and slow the fan down. Another ghost in the climate control?

Its ment to do that, so you dont have to manually increase it as the engine temp goes hotter. Notice if you turn the temparature down, the fan speed goes down ;)

The only input you have on climate control is the temperature, it should control speed/vent setting accordingly, but mine doesnt do the vent think i dont think... never tried it.

assuming he climate control is off the 'light' sensor is probably compensating for what it assumes is 'direct sunlight'.

It's a normal feature, my Toledo does this too. It does it whether the aircon is on or off. The only time the fan speed doesn't adjust is when it's set on windscreen then it'll just blast out at full speed.

As far as I understand it, when you change the fan speed you're not setting the fan speed, you're setting how far above/below the auto wants to do. If the auto would have it on 3 bars and you click up twice, when auto wants 5 it would go to 7.
It's a bit of a misnomer when the screen says manual, it just means you've changed something. The CC will still do what it thinks best to reach the temp you've set, taking into account anything else you've changed.

I just have mine on auto, with the air-con turned off, and let it do whatever it wants, unless I need the screen clearing.
