I drive a 2008 FR TDI, and lately my passengers have complained that bottles of water placed in the glovebox are no longer cooled despite the rest of the cabin making good use of the climate control.

I've changed the direction of the CC to blow downwards and the air blowing into the footwell is nice and cold. Does anyone know if there's anything else I can check before I book it into the dealers yet again?

cheers

IF you have one there is a controll switch in the glove box so you can turn it high or low thats in the skoda anyway.

My facelift FR certainly doesn't have a glove 'box', there is no seal around it and certainly not a contained unit. In my Audi A4 cabriolet I used to have the proper chilled glovebox, insulated lid, magnetic catch, even a white interior to it - just like a proper fridge !!! Always used to blow air conditioned air into it.

However I'm sure the Leon has never had this as a factory or retro fit

Thanks peeps, much as I suspected! Now it's time to tell SWMBO that she's imagining things....

I suppose it's coming up to its third birthday now and it might be time to get the air con re-gassed. I've noticed it does take quite a few minutes more at the moment to reach what it believes to be a cool 16 degrees C.

Had a butchers at mine this morning. It seems chilled, but you cant adjust the temp
