climate control

hey guys,

my climate control seems to take ages to start chucking out cold air. i have been driving home from work the last couple of days (so fairly slow moving rush hour traffic) and the climate control takes about 15 mins to start with the cold air. if im driving somewhere with no traffic it takes 8 ish mins. i have the temp set to 'LO' and fans on about 2-3 bars on the screen. it also seems to get cold all of a sudden rather than the air gradually getting colder.

im new to climate control so dont know what it should be. how does your climate control perform? does mine sound dodgy?

i have heard about 'recharging' the compressor, does it sound like i need that and if so is it covered by warranty?

cheers fellas

Near Reevo :)
Sounds like its leaked and lost all the gas.

FWIW - i have mine set to around 18 - 19. Soon as i get in a warm car, start it, within 10 seconds its blowing cold air, by a minute its ice cold. (assuming of course the car is hot and it needs to cool it down!).

You dont have "econ" on do you? - Displayed on the screen?

its going into the dealer on saturday anyway so ill get them to sort it!

i wanted some others to comment to make sure that it is a problem.

Same as Tam's as well.

But I had the same problem with a Clio a year ago, one of the compressor pipes had a crack and the gas was leaking out - not a lot of cold air.
After you've parked your car after using the aircon for a while is there any water spots on the ground under the engine area??
