Hi all, 2003 ibiza sport 130pd

DMF is on its way out and it's annoying me now!

Question is, where can I get hold of a used one? I've looked at eBay but I need cheap really!

I don't mind if it doesn't have much life left, just as long as it's better than mine!

I'll be doing the work myself and have a ramp so doing the job twice doesn't really phase me if it doesn't last long

Any pointers, or if anyone has one lying around, let me know, that would be great

Mods, I know there is a parts sale section, and a seats wanted section but I couldn't see anything for parts wanted so please move if you think there is a more suitable location for the thread.

Thanks in advance!

I got a smf conversion on ebay for £249 new. Doesn't idle any louder either and picks up great.

Would never go back to a dmf now, especially as I'm about to be running a lot more power.

Buying a used dmf is the first time i've ever heard such a thing! For the cost of renoving and refitting the gearbox its not worth it. It'll end up being a job done twice.

Unless you're thinking of selling it of course!

You'll struggle to find a used DMF in good enough condition to use again. Most reasons why they'll be out of the car in the first place is because they're shot!

As mentioned already, might aswell go for a new DMF or you could just go for a SMF kit.

Ye understand that, I'll be doin it myself tho so won't cost me anything anyway.

Plan is to get a new car next year so doesn't really need to last too long. Although when next year is undecided!

Took on board that most come out because they are shot, just hoping someone took a good condition one out for a upgrade or something!

But smf conversion is becoming more convincing, for £250 I can't say no really!
My only hesitation has been increased vibration, I do a lot of motorway miles and don't want it to be to bad
Cheers for advice everyone!

I still have my old DMF in my shed. Did clutch and flywheel 3 months ago. When the garage took it out they said it was in good condition but still was still worth getting a new one i suppose.

I didn't get any vibrations after installing it. And no chatter at idle, only when in first gear when driving really slowly you hear it a bit.

I do a lot of motorway miles too, 60 a day to uni and 200 at the weekend going to Newcastle from Leeds and i've not noticed any vibrations what so ever. The car is just smooth as anything.
