Does the dash binnacle need coding (I'm missing turn signal sound and looking for an easy fix).

Hi everybody!

I've bought my son his first car, what seems like a tidy little Mk4 Ibiza...

An immediate issue is that the turn signals don't make any noise when indicating. I've read that its a fairly common fault, the suggestion is that its the speaker in the dash binnacle cluster is the issue, but that looks like a mild PITA as you need to take the dial needles off etc. So, I was wondering if I just pick up a complete dash binnacle off eBay for 30 quid (same engine etc). Does anybody know if this is just plug and play though, or would it need coding?

I think the immobiliser is built into it, you can run into real issues trying to swap that around.

Might be best taking it out and sending it to a company to repair.

Cheers. I ended up fixing it myself, I just took the binnacle out and soldered in a replacement instrument speaker. Works like a charm now.
