Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if you can help!

I've just had my flywheel & clutch replaced and it cost me £880 and I'm still experiencing really bad engine shake.

This is the only reason why I got my flywheel & clutch replaced in the first instance.

Does anybody know what else could be causing this? I take it I haven't got any right to ask for my money back now they've fitted it and charged me?

Any help would be great.

Thanks.

does it only shake when at idle?

if so my tdi 130 is exactly the same mate, i think you'll find most if not all of us have it

Pretty sure it's just normal mate, I would be very suprised if you could rock it excessively by hand, it's just a wobbly engine, I wanted to get my mounts done but was told it would be expensive

You could just try an uprated dog bone mount bush. That stops alot of the forward/backward movement and is alot cheaper than replacing all the engine mounts. Might cause a bit of vibration in the cabin at idle instead though.

The fuelling is probably slightly off at idle. Raising the idle, or adjusting the fueling should cure it. Both can be done through vag com.

Theres a guide on TDIclub. :)

Ok ive had this since day one. Mine is fine when cold till it gets to about 70 deg then starts to really shake bad. Turning on the aircon settles it for a while and the rear screen has some effect.

Taken it back in 3 times but it comes out the same, Seat cannot fix it or increase the tick over much above 50 rpm which is not enough. :(

I think its running too lean on idle but Seat say they cannot fix this. Its REALLY annoying.
I find that if I rest my foot on the gas and increase the revs about 100 rpm it smoothes out if I go beyond that to say 1000 rpm it rocks again.

Once mine clears warrantee I am going to look to see if I can mod the electric pedal mechanism with either a shim or better still an adjustment screw to give me the extra 100 rpm. I know that sounds daft and perhaps a bodge but I think it almost ruins my ride especially when people complain in the back that the rocking is making them feel ill.

Plenty of information on this problem on other VAG com forums, they go mad about it in the states. Ive read hours of threads and yet no one has found a proper cure. Madness.

Best of luck if you do find a cure or manage to do the trick in VAG-COM PLEASE come back and share it. :D

ive got a 130 tdi and mine rocks slightly (enough to occasionally feel it in the car), i have tried looking into it and tbh it sounds like the norm with these engines, as long as it run fine then shouldnt worry too much

Dogbone = about £45 from awesome, about 30 mins to fit with a vice if your handy like that.

I wouldn't recommend fitting it, it may make the engine movement less but they are known to increase the vibrations in the cabin and therefore making the problem you have worse

It wears off/breaks itself in/settles down, i had the dogbone in the Leon, positives outway slight cabin vibes fella.

im having this problem...really badly, actually have my car booked in next week for a new flywheel... mine vibrates often and bounces every now and again!
however one thing i noticed on my car after removing the battery tray was the engine was at a slight slant, therefore im going to look into getting the gear box mount looked at/changed.

by the way, ino this is random but anyone tell me what a ibiza FR tdi idles at? remapped? isit 800RPM or 1000RMP?

it could be that due to the heavy vibrating of the flywheel ... it caused the engine mounths to get ruined...
