A lot of the same thing over on Briskoda at the moment, both standard and non standard BHP clutches slipping. There is a deglazing idea on one thread but not for the faint hearted,

My clutch began slipping around 15k, have learned to live with it to a degree. However recently (i.e. the cold snap) it has got much worse. If I give it a fistful in 2nd it slips from lowdown the rev range.
With the 40k service looming I thought that this time I will get it looked at as my car is still under warantee. I just hope your statement isnt the stance my dealer will take!

TBH youll be very very lucky if they will change a clutch at that milage.

Ive lost power without doubt, it was slower going beyond 70 than what it has done. Surely this is a warranty job or seat realise the issue. I would like to state this is unmodded FR so it worries me for people who are revo'ed!
I had mine changed under warranty at the back end of 2003, as it was slipping in higher gears (4/5/6) when accelerating around 1800-2100 rpm IIRC.Wheely said:Anyone else had any joy recently with their dealership (ie getting theirs changed under warranty) ?

I explained about the clutch slipping before the service and they confirmed it was, they told me that it was covered on the warranty but if the clutch. after inspection. was found to have been mistreated then I would have to foot the bill! £517 inc vat......
I told them to have a look and tell me if it was my fault before changing it!
I have drove all of my previous cars hard (Saxo VTS, Clio 172) and the clutch has never slipped on them, so a bit of stick every now and then shouldn't cause the Cupra to play up.
good !!zac_69_uk said:UPDATE
I have spoken to the dealer and they have confirmed that there is a problem with the pressure plate and the clutch will be replaced under warranty!

Commom guys...
You're booting a TDI in 4th/5th/6th whatever around 2K rpms ?!?!?
That's near it's peak torque ...
Your're asking for a torque generous engine to deliver all it's torque to a
clutch that has to pull a ton on high gears...
Just down shift and boot it after 2.5K at least.
muddyboots said:Fair enough if it's been remapped - but an unmodified car should stand up to normal driving, and accelerating in those gears at those engine speeds is a fairly normal thing to do...
