Maybe the manufacturer applied something to speed up the bedding in process. What clutch is it? I assume a garage fitted it? Personally, I'd ignore anything that happens for the first 500 miles. I can't remember if mine smelt or not. But I got loads of vibration in 1st gear for about 300 miles and in reverse for another 200 after that.
Hopefully you get some other opinions thrown in. For me, I'd be asking them to look at it. It should have bedded in by now. I've heard of clutches smelling for a couple of hundred miles. Might just need realigning.
Ask if replaced hydraulic slave cylinder at gearbox as once clutch removed should automatically be replaced....as can fail and cause problems.....same as when doing timing belt always replace water pump due to having to re do all if pump fails...same applies
