Hi im new to here,

But anyway straight to it, i have a ibiza fr tdi and i fitted pro sport coilovers around a month ago and got puma drop links to stop the arb from rubbing. Now, i have wound the coilovers all the way down on the front and theres still a little bit of arch gap, i want the front tyres to at least be tucking (standard 16" fr wheels) but theres about 10mm gap.

I have seen people say that polo 6n top mounts or top mount bushes? will drop it around 20mm? just wondering the best place to get them? do i need the hole top mount assembly from a polo 6n or just the bushing part?

I also think i may be running on bump stops, the ride is super bounchy so i am planning on cutting them as well, im guessing this will be necessary with the 6n top mounts anyway?

is there anything else anyone knows that will help drop the front some more?

appreciate any help please :)

You'll need to remove the helper springs and cut down the bump stops

The polo topmounts are direct fit on to the mk4 golf chassis cars, but need modifying to fit mk4 ibizas

cheers for the reply,
i have already removed the helper springs :) would that mean i am running on bump stops?

ah ok, do you know what modifications need to be made to the top mount?

the only other idea i have had is it uses two adjusters collars? on the strut to raise/lower it, i could remove one and drill a hole and tap it to use a grub screw? that would give me like 5-10mm more at tops though (only running one collar, grub screw needed as the second collar is to look bot collars in place)

I would guess so, but I have AP coilovers so I don't know for sure.

Mine came with smaller bump stops and they do tuck a bit of tyre, but I do think mine also rests on the bump stops now.

I'm not sure exactly on what mods are needed, I read that they needed narrow spring style that I think yours are but my APs are so I never bothered looking any further into it

My APs have that set up with one collar and a grub screw as standard :)

I cant remember what my bump stops looked like when i fitted them :/ cba to take them all apart again haha yea my mate got AP's for his golf that where i got the idea for the grub srew, just not sure if it will make the collar weaker and prone to cracking?

yea mine have straight springs so might work on 6n top mounts :D

So long as it is reasonable enough quality metal and isn't too thin around the hole, you shouldn't need to apply a large amount of force to it as it is more of a secondary measure to stop the collar moving through vibrations.

Thanks, I'm getting the itch to go a bit lower in spring so will be interesting if you get somewhere with the topmounts. Aside from lowering where the strut is held in the hub and making my small bumpstops even smaller, I'm out of simple options with these coilovers.

I'm considering making up some adjustable top plate/mounts that give me a 20mm or so drop and also the option of tweaking the camber if ever I need to. But then I'd probably need to get custom rear springs

Yea see thats the thing the metal doesnt look that great quality but i imagine it will be strong enough it will only be one hole with a screw to fill the gap so shouldnt loose much strength? yeah thats why i was thinking if i removed one then i would need a grub screw to hold it in place?

yea lower is always good! hadnt thought about where it sits in the hub, that may be the last resort haha

custom top plate would solve all issues tbh just getting it to be a perfect fit would be a ball ache, unless you get proffesionally made. ive still got the adjuster cups in the rear of mine and im happy with how it sits, planning on getting 17's and poke so need to get wheels really to see how low i need to get
