fitted my coilovers but think the arb might be a issue, where can i get some adjustable drop links? not sure how low it is its about 10mm from bottom of tread on front and about 5mm on rear, so its fairly low, its on a spax rsx kit

a few threads on this - in fact one not far below this one of mine - with ARB in the title ;)

Bonrath sell em, most motor factors will do generic ones, FK sell them (although expensive) etc
Jason told me all the above :)

Why don't you measure from road/floor to wheel arch height, and then compare with my threads on here with height in it (std is 670mm front, 660mm rear) then you'll know how low you are!

yeah i'll measure it tomorrow and see what it is

the kit is -70mm front and -65mm rear at bottom of tread so i should think its about -60mm all round ( i think)

well if your lowered by 60mm all round then i'd say bye bye to your bumpers lol

Anything lower than 40mm and most people recommend you change the entire arb, as drop links won't cure all of the problems...

Well, thats what I have read. I might do the whole lot.

yeah im thinking of doing the lot but just want a quick fix as the coilovers just cost me near on 700 notes, my bumpers shouldnt be a problem as mines the older cupra its got the same bumpers as a 1.6 model

i was joking about the bumper bit really - i'd be more concerned with the sump and other very low components. The cupra is about 15mm lower than a std leon anyway...

the coilovers cost you 700 notes? or the coilovers + fitting?

going by this link here:
http://www.europerformance.co.uk/pages/products/product_info.mhtml?id=50028

they are approx £550, and state that they drop up to 65mm front, and 50mm rear. So for your car to be 60mm all round sounds very low to me - i know mines 30mm and that low enough!

They also say on there:
Please Note: At over 45mm lowering at the front, a modified anti roll bar is required to prevent fouling

Which makes me think that drop links will not help you.

On the LC, the arb is OVER the driveshaft. The r32 and modified arbs are UNDER the driveshaft, hence solving the issue.

For your drop, i somehow doubt drop links will do the job?
I am looking into this and still learning big time, but thats the way i understand it.

that included fitting, just mesured it and its 45mm lower than standard

you'll be needing a modified anti roll bar then, apparently. Suppose you could try drop links first, and see what happens.

im getting a slight rub sometimes on full lock now they have been on a while, im also wondering whether to hike the car up 5mm or add links or a modded rollbar, any thoughts?

roll bar mate - i hiked mine up by about 5-7mm ish and it still did it - and as the suspension settled in and the car dropped more it just got worse.

Roll bar certainly stiffens up the car too - but is quite costly unless u've got the ability and tools to fit it urself.

you need to drop/lower the subframe to do it. So if you can do that yourself, then probably not too hard. But if you can't, then it'll be tricky..... :)

pabs- how would you describe the sound of when you knew your drop links were fouling the drive shaft? Only ask as i thought mine was making the same as everyone else BUT my drive shafts are not marked as you would think they'ed be from something knocking it. So now im lead to believe maybe my top mounts have had it???

My knocking happens randomly and throughout the steering motion not just when reaching full lock. What did yours do?
