I would say coilovers to be honest. As for how low can ya go untill you feel it is ok to drive lol. Ive got the 16" alloys on mine and i have gone 120mm on the back and about 100 on the front.
I've learnt that low and rubbing isn't always good!
I wrecked my old front arches and hit the gearbox and sump a few times, lost count on how many times I had to clip my bumper back into place!
Depends what you want it for.... track, fast road or just to look good and also depends on your budget! Few got sets off ebay for £200 odd, I had FK Highsports at first and thought they were good till I removed them and fitted my Bilstein Collies lol.
Like I said it's all upto your budget, £200 ebay ones, FK's £500 odd.... if you want more track use then my bilsteins are the bottom end entry I can guess only lowers the car 60mm max but they cost me in the range of £800
Use the search on here and you will find threads, after threads and after threads on coilovers!
If you want to improve the handling, cheapy coilovers probably aren't the best way to go. They'll be fine if all you want to do is get the car lower though.

i got the TA tech ones after a few on here gave them a shout. For the price you cant argue and they make the car look great. My handling has also improved....with a strut too.
