Cold air feed

Hi,

I've got a Ibiza 1.9TDi 130. I have very minimal knowledge about cars and am looking to do little upgrades to my car.

First thing I was looking at was to either get the green cotton filter or an induction kit. I've done some research and seem to understand how to fit the induction kit.
While reading through posts here, people have mentioned about needing a cold air feed if an induction kit is fitted.
Can soemone explain the purpose of this cold ait feed and what does it exactly connect to and possibly a link to a website where I can buy it to get a better idea of what it is.

And another question, is there any noticable performance difference witht he replacement green cotton filter? or would you recommend an induction kit?

Thanks for all the help

I'm not like you guys...
Cold air feed, is exactly what it says it is lol
baiscly, feeds the filter with nice cold air (cold air contains more oxygen than hot air, more oxygen = more fuel = more bhp)

Its to try and combat the "heatsoak".

Best mod really to do is remap. Save up, get one, and smile:). No getting dirty and messing about with anything, just instant power upgrade :)

i think this relates to your car:

you can fit the air intake from a PD160 (which is bigger, allowing more air flow as the PD130 is smaller) think its £20 or so from a dealer

apparently this helps a fair bit
