Hi guys, im wondering if I could rack some brains,
I installed a cold air intake a year ago, MST PERFORMENCE, a lovely sounding one, and about 5 weeks ago or so, the noise on it has completely dulled, there's no whoosh or little stutter like it used to do, and im trying to work out why.
Ive checked all the pipes, clamps and fittings etc etc for a leak of air, and theyre al fine and retightened and wasnt that, so back to square one, im wondering what else could cause this too happen, my next thought is maybe the inlet manifold gasket has a problem, but hoping not, hoping its something easier, but cant figure it out.

I dont know the answer but have you noticed any change in performance of your motor and have you run a diagnostic scan just in case there are some DTC Errors that dont cause a dashboard warning.

So ive done a diagnostic and have absolutely no codes. Power seems a biiiit sluggish but nothing really bad. So if there is a problem with inlet manifold I think its tiny, ive also spoken to MST and theyre going to get back to me monday. But i might get a quicker response here, or thats my theory

Check/replace the diverter valve. If it doesnt work properly, then you will bleed off boost, which might be the cause of the low power.

The diverter valve is the component which creates those sounds which you are missing right now.
This seems like a good shout. Ill have a look into this and see. Thanks bud

No worries, good luck and let us know what you find (y)

A good reliability upgrade would be the GFB T9381 (if that proves to be the culprit)

Yeah ive had a look at this one, im also keen on the ECS, or forge motorsport one, im gunna take my valve out today and have a nose. Will let you know🫡

Forge is high quality stuff, had multiple DVs from them in the past on my Seat Leon Cupra 1M (y) That was all vacuum activated compared to the electric valves nowadays
