Cold start issues

Hi all, I've been having problems with my 1.8t AUQ engine.
When cold, the engine will start, then stall and turn off, and will then start and run really rough until you pump the accelerator and it gets warm.
When warm it'll start first try without a problem, however I can't be revving my car at 6am to get it warm enough when leaving for work.
Other forum posts have pointed at possible SAI and coolant temp sensor faults, but I don't just want to throw money at it until its fixed, so any diagnostic help is welcome.

id say try the coolant temp sensor first, but hard to advise as i have the same problem for 2 years. ever since i changed my fuel pump to begin with, have changed it 4 times since and the problem never went away.

Check the hard plastic pipes that run to the SAI, are they fully plugged in and not split?
