Hi guys
I’m in need of some information please.
For a few months through summer my car has on most occasions fired up with a cold start. With the revs up high.
It’s done this even at midday in 20 degrees.
It only does it for the first fire up. Once it’s been run for a minute it won’t do it again.
It throws up no code faults.
I get that it’s a sensor which must be failing and not reading a proper temperature at initial start, but does anyone know exactly which sensor governs the cold start up activation?
Just changing out thermostats and temp senders Willy nilly would cost a packet.
Any help appreciated.

Do you get the EPC light showing?

Warm start problems are often the crankshaft sensor. But it often throws a code

No. No codes. No lights.
Seems whatever isn’t reading correctly hasn’t actually failed completely.
Just a guess.

The only sensor that affects the mixture at start up is the coolant one. Can't see it can really be much else other than that.

Result as have ordered one. Thnx.
