Comfy Coilovers?

Wondering if there is such a thing? Not had the car long, which is a '04 FR TDI, and came with H&R springs, and we've decided after a few weeks that they are so hard and uncomfortable they need to come off.

The ride height is really nice, but that's about it. Also knocks on full lock - which is something I need to look into.

Wondering if a set of budget JOM or similar coilovers would be a comfy option?

It's difficult to get comfy coilovers but stick with a good quality make and you will get a coilover that offers more of a refined ride.

Generally though the lower you go the stiffer it will get so this is something to consider as well.

Well, I'm not sure of the drop on my H&R springs, but I'd guess 40mm, and I don't want to go any lower than this!

Was looking at JOM's to start with, as we're on a tight budget, so 35-40mm on those would be fine if they're going to be more comfy than these? If so, I'll get ordering!

The ride even through its ruff with your hr springs on I can promise u jom coilovers will be worse than what u have at the mo my slef if your after softer more confertetbul I'd go for a spring and shock combo rather than coilovers if ur not wanting to go super low. And I'd prop say weltec are a good one to go for dmp sell these I belive but as the saying goes u get what u pay for

I found it to be the other way.

my car rides so much better on the joms than it ever did on springs..the rides firm, but not hard, crashy or bouncy.

I ain't got joms on weltic springs but I know of a fair few with joms and from what I have see. Heard and tested I wouldn't go down that route I'd save up and get better
