Coming back to a Cupra

Hi all,

Been away from here for a good few years now, couldn't get in to my old profile as I used a now defunct freeserve email address so couldn't reset my profile.
Currently driving a mk4 Focus ST but due to take delivery of a 2021 Cupra Leon 300 sometime in the next week or so. Looking forward to contributing again and joining in as much as i can.

Welcome to SCN, the CUPRA Leon 300 is a great car and I love mine and not had any problems at all since 2022 when I bought new, enjoy. Pics would be nice too.

Picked up today and very good first impression- settled into the dsg box fairly quickly, only went to change gears old school a couple of times. just need to set it all up how I like it, reset all the radio stations to my preferences as well. Pics to follow once I get a chance to take some

Had a wee play with them, impressed with how quick the gear changes are.

Yes they are very good, I use them all the time when out on the track. You can also use the gear lever in manual mode(shift over to left) forwards to change up and reverse to change down but I much prefer the paddles. I am sure you are aware but if you select sports mode it holds the gear changes to higher rev band.

Enjoy these are fun cars and still give good mpg if driven carefully

I only have the paddles as its the smaller lever on the centre console, I like the wee blip when the box shifts down in sport mode and the occasional pop and crackle too, missing a few creature comforts I had as standard in the ST- heated seats and the usual heated front windscreen (absolute godsend in winter when working nights) as well as auto full beam but not the end of the world. Overall very impressed these first few days of ownership, steering feels a bit lighter too, even in Cupra mode, compared to the ST in sport mode. Just need to work out how to delete primary user in profiles now
