Coming Home / Leaving Home Lights

Hi All,

I have a 2016 ST Leon , And up until 2 weeks ago my leaving home lights and coming home lights appear to have a mind of their own...
When I unlock the car I get no lights come on until I put the ignition on.

I have Auto lights and switch is set to AUTO and obviously when it's dark out.

Then again this morning got home , Got out and locked the car and the lights turned off straight away even though the time has been set to 20s for both through the infotainment system.

Any ideas?

Try to reset the light preferences through the MIB unit. Check my video below from around 1:06.

Could also be something with the light sensor, but its easy (and free) to try the above first

Thank you but I have tried that , just forgot to write about that in my originl thread.

have you run a diagnostic tool scan to see if there are any DTC errors being reported.

I haven't tried this as I wasn't sure if it would show any due to no error lights or codes being displayed?

Error lights only show when there is a engine or brake fault etc

The first thing to do with modern cars is to do a fault code scan and see if there is any error codes

Just bear in mind a generic code reader is never good enough for these cars! they generally only do the basics you need something like VCDS
