compression test results

Carried out a compression test today,

leon cupra 1.8t AUQ 137k

cyl1- 11 bar

cyl2- 11 bar

cyl3- 11 bar

cyl4- 11.7 bar

should I be pleased with this, ive just bought the car and I am planning to go stage 2 it, im planning on doing a head rebuild first though.

thoughts please.

You should only look at it as a comparison between cylinders rather than the actual number. If you use a different gauge it will be different. The fact ones higher rather than lower tells me all is well mate.

Readings look ok, any oil in cylinder 4 though? It's the only one higher than the others

I'm glad you posted those values I done a compression test on a 1.8t AWT engine and got 160, 160, 160 and 165 psi or 11.03 bar 1-3 and 11.37 bar on cyl no 4. Good comparison figures. 109,000 miles or so on mine.

I recently got a c5 1.8t Quattro with APU engine code. Compression test yielded 185 psi or 12.75 bar on all four cylinders with 0-1 psi variation.
