low coolant temperature fixed

Finally got the car sorted today. Car went back to the dealers, they had it for day and a half. Collected it today - fixed. Everything seems to back to "normal" quickly reaches 90degC and stays there rock steady. Oil temperature 100degC.
Big job apparently to replace the thermostat valve assembly. They had to de-pressurise the air con as well. Glad I didn't have to pay for it!
Amazed at the time its taken to admit the problem, get the parts and get it fixed.
Also amazed at how much the low temperature running affected the fuel consumption.
In between visits to the dealers blanked off the grille, like we used to in the old days, kept a check on the coolant temperature, ran about 80degC and this practically restored the fuel consumption to pre fault levels.
If you get this problem insist that the coolant thermostat/valve is replaced.

Looks like my FR has developed the same problem. Running at 62 degrees coolant and 71 degrees oil temp. Phoned the dealer and he says he will "have a look" when it is in getting new door cards.
Starting to get a little peed off with this car now [:@] car has been faultless for the first 18 months of its life.

Heads up on thermostat units

So went to the dealer to discuss the thermostat issue. Seat admitted there is a quantity of thermostats that have faults so I have to wait because there is a large demand for the part.:(

On the plus side the car had door card replaced and no rattles heard, on the down side some numpty decided to snap the Seat Sound badge off the original panel and glue it to the new door card. Obviously that didn't work and it left big streaks of glue on the door card, so they used double sided tape, also didn't work . They even attempted stick it in the wrong place (as if I wouldn't have noticed:shrug:).
So back again its going for another door card when the thermostat lands. Hope they don't carry out the repair with "hope for the best" sealant or "it will be fine" gaskets. :censored:
