Coolant Capacity

Recently bought a Mk4 that's had a bit of a bump on the front, existing rad wasn't leaking but i'm swapping it just to be on the safe side.

Does anyone know the fluid capacity for the coolant system in a 1.4 16v Ibiza Sport?

The online Shell LubeMatch tool mentions you need 5.6 litres of it from empty.

Does seem a lot though, it should mention the capacity in your owners manual if you have it; I don't have mine to hand right now.

Seems about right for the 1.4. The 1.9TDi holds 6.8 litres if I remember correctly.

Thanks for the help both of you, unfortunately the car came without a handbook which is why I came here

I find another post on a Polo forum where someone mentions 5.6 litres so I guess thats the answer.

I'll double check when I hopefully win my 99p ebay owners manual, unless anyone else can take a second or two to verify it in theirs?
