I'm not sure if this has happened to anyone else yet or is present in a thread on this board somewhere but I figured it might be worth mentioning.

My FR TDi had been progressively losing coolant over a period of two weeks. The only way I noticed this (worrying) was the constant fan noise which I presumed was the DPF doing its job and I never once received any indication of low coolant on the dashboard, clearly the fans were on too often which was an indicator.

I finally got the AA out to the house to inspect the car to which the guy found that the radiator had a small hole in it from where the fan housing/cowling had been rubbing against it. The car was recovered and taken to the Seat dealership who (obviously) fixed this under warranty.

Has anyone else experienced this?

P.S. Bring back good old fashioned temperature gauges.

i certainly agree with you saying bring back the old tempreture gauge, in fact, bring back a lot of the old trustworthy things

i would imagine it should be simple to fit a tempreture gauge though

I had the same problem with mine, and annoyingly it literally happened a couple of weeks out of warranty. Needed a replacement radiator to resolve, was originally quoted nearly £400 to replace but eventually got a large goodwill contribution covering the majority of the cost. I have heard of a couple of others having the same issue so I suspect its a reasonably common issue. It is a VW part.

My FR 1.4 TSI had a hole in the water pump...got it sorted under warranty. In my case, no gradual problem, left work one night and by the time I got home my car was making a horrendous noise (water going onto the belt) and it was steaming...not fun!!

My FR tdi has just been in for this recall as well as the bonnet release. However i wasn't told about the recall on the radiator hose until i asked about it on the job sheet. When i asked why wasn't i told about it the receptionist told me that SEAT had claimed it was non-critical and they were doing it when people have the cars in for service or general warranty work.

How crap is that?? Apparently its on a selection of ibiza models not just the FR's.
