Coolant tempreture sensor

Hi all

Can anyone give me the part number for the 'Green topped' coolant tempreture sensor and where is the best place to get it? Also, any other bits i might need to fit it.

My tempreture gauge is going up and down, i pressume this is the problem.

059 919 501 A is the green 4-pin temp sensor most commonly changed these days. With that part number you can get the from any VW, Audi, SEAT or Skoda dealer (@ £26.28 RRP inc VAT)

Goes up to 90 then down slowly, then up again all whilst driving, sometimes when slowing down. Then sometimes not at all!! No pattern really. Had a journey today where it warmed up to 90 then didn't move at all. Another time it wil drop to nothing and not register for a few minutes. Very bizarre

Sorry for the hijack but I have the same issue and I am hopefully going to get it plugged in later and see what it is, If i find anything useful I will let you know although I hoping its just the temp sensor.

mine is doing the same now, plugged it in vag-com and it doesn't throw any faults up but ive ordered the sensor just incase hopefully that will fix the problem

It will be the thermostat not the sensor mine did the same, changed the Stat all ok,,,
