Hey all I have a 63 plate Leon fr

Recently I been helping a friend look for his 1st Leon and found him nice 15 plate fr
In the Info for it, it says it has cornering front fog lights.

So my question is. Is it just a case of get it activating it or can I get retro fit for mine? As I don't think mine has it and think it'll be handy to have

Thanks in advance
Regards Neil

Just needs to be coded:

From memory my 15plate Fr didn’t have cornering lights, this was because Seat uk in the wisdom made up some b@lls*@t excuse that you could not have the LED head lights (white) and have halogen fog lights (yellowish) used for Corning lights as this would breech some EU regulations and confuse drivers ....even though every other manufacturer was doing it.... they even blocked uk dealerships from coding it for you although yes it can be done.

later (facelift) models like my 68plate Fr had LED floods and did have the Corning function activated from factory.

There must be a 'Big Book of Bullsh*t Excuses' available to dealerships for them to quote from. Mrs S had an 2014 Ibiza before her Leon which had optional Factory fit Bi-Xenon headlights and cornering halogen fogs.

Agree.

My current (2020) and previous (2016) VW’s both have LED headlights and halogen fog lights that double up as cornering lights. Historically, the yellowish light of halogen bulbs was always considered to be better at ‘cutting’ through fog - hence why halogen bulbs are often used in fog lights - so I doubt the EU would’ve outlawed using halogen bulbs for use in fog lights / cornering lights.

Thank you all
I was planning of upgrading to led fog lights but might defo do this now can anyone recommend what ones are best to get?
And if I get a Carista or OBDeleven would I be able to code it with one of them or would I have to go somewhere to have it done

Seat used the same excuses for the seat arona basically as a cover up to the fact they cheaped out but not fitting LED fogs,
Everything below Fr has cornering lights as they have halogen head lights all models Fr and above have LED head lights so no corner function
