Been having a few issues with the car battery going completely flat if left for 2 to 3 days so have been checking things out. Firstly the battery itself has tested fine and isnt that old plus good quality. So not the battery
So i put a voltmeter ont he battery and let the car idle.... it was reading 17.4v... Now correct me if im wromg but isnt that alittle high? I thought the charge should be regulated to about 14 to 15v?
When the car has stood with engine off etc for 12 hours the battery seems to settle to about 15.3 v.... still seems alittle high but not as much a concern.

check for a voltage drain as well when car off and nothing showed for over an hour with exception of 0.02v which i assume is clock etc?

Any ideas here people?
many thanks

p.s when it comes to start the car normally it fires up almost immediately whatever the weather.

at 17,4V you should jump bulb offen, try another meter or try testing it on a normal 1,5v battery to test if it is off?
