Couple of issues

I picked up a 56 plate 2.0 TDi Stylance last week from a main dealer. It has 4k on the clock so far.

On top of the standard kit, the car has chrome wing mirrors, and chrome grille surround on the bottom of the front bumper.

When the car reaches ~ 40mph, I get a whistling noise as though there is some wind resistance. The noise is louder when the front windows are open. I'm guessing its related to the wing mirrors. The chrome fixtures don't appear loose.

The only other issue I can find is that occasionally, when changing gear I get a whooshing noise in between releasing the accelerator, and depressing the clutch.

Has anyone experienced the same?

I've driven diesels for years now, and never heard the whoosing noise. My last car was an 04 plate Leon 1.9 SE

thanks

I doubt it, its the same shape as the original covers so its not changing the airflow. Not sure what to suggest really.

Gonna say turbo on this one, the 2.0's have a pretty good turbo, so would certainly expect it to be that. If its a whining noise, then perhaps its the erg valve (think that's correct) there seemed to be a whole batch of cars affected by that.

Mine doesn't seem to suffer any wind noise at all, even with the windows open at 70 it's still quieter than my yaris was at 50. Or it could just be that road noise from tyres is drowning everything else out :D

But I certainly don't notice any windy type noises at all.

The wooshing noise, do you get it when you change gear at low speed or if you blip throttle at standstill? if so its the N75 valve gone. Had mine done about 10,000 miles ago and has been fine since. No whistling noise though, just tyre noise...

Dont think so. When your driving the car and in slow moving traffic and your only using first gear when you release the throttle theres a kind of mooing sound from behind the dash. You also get it if your stationary and blip the throttle. Not sure if mine was intermittant when it first started but before it got fixed i had it all the time...
