crackling noise

my leon 1.8 20vt makes a crackling noise wen i turn it off! is this just the turbo cooloing or is there something wrong with it? can some one please help

Could turbo cooling down, although you should drive off boost for a couple of miles before turning it off.
Can you get someone to have a look when you do, or can you, or is it instant?

There is a water pump that only runs when you switch off to cool the turbo, this could be on its way out, drive as above till checked out

I think this is what happens on mine I can't noticably hear a noise, but can hear tingling does this mean its on the way out or is knackered? It is a leon Cupra btw not the 1.4 but i cant change my profile!

this is totally normal all cars do it, or am i missing something

As above, yep all cars do it, it's the exhaust/manifold cooling down.

isn't that just the sound of hot metal cooling and contracting? every car does it after a good drive...
