Hello

My son has purchased a arosa 1.0 year 2000 and every now and then the revs drop and it has no power, I read the ecu and it shows Crankshaft Position sensor as the fault (17748) I then clear the fault start the engine and it's back.

I was told to remove the Crankshaft sensor and give it a clean as they can pick up small metal bits, the question is where is it situated?

I'm going to get the cambelt kit and pump anyway because we have no history on the car and it's 129k on the clock (this will be done at a garage)

Thanks in advance

Steve

its fitted just above the starter motor
you will need a 4mm or 5mm ball ended allen key to remove and its awkward to get to
if your removing it just get a new one and fit

Thanks for the reply I've had a good look but still can't find it, I've taken a couple of pics which just shows a bolt, there are also no wires going anywhere near where I thought it should be.

Could it be that a previous owner removed it and replaced it with a bolt?

I was expecting it to be just above the oil filter

Wow how hard is it to insert a photo! I give up on the photo sorry
