Crash Sensor side airbag Driver side location

Hi
I have a airbag fault on my Altea FR. The fault code reads 1221 - Crash Sensor side airbag Driver side (G179) Does anybody know where the Crash Sensor is located?
Any help much appreciated.

No ideas. I think the sensor is either undr the carpet near the crossmember under the seat or at the base of the door pillar near the seat belt mounting. Can anybody confirm.

Well, I happened to find that someone has posted the whole Elsawin VAG online service manual online! Not very intuitive finding the links through to what you want, but patience is rewarded. It's all there.

With the caveat that if VAG find out, they'll order it to be taken down.

Fitted new crash sensor. No joy, fault code still showing after reset. Wiring fault? Any ideas.
